The physics of materials defines their resistance and behavior. Density affects buoyancy, elasticity allows deformation, and thermal conductivity determines heat transfer. Each material has unique properties that govern its use.

Diamond has exceptional heat conductivity (better than copper)

They improve holy conductivity.

the garlean uniforms decreases aetherial conductivity but since it doesn't affect them then they don't care how it affects other races 🤷

non-garleans wearing clothes than constricts their aetherial conductivity must feel like wearing extra shackles...

They're talking about aetherial conductivity or whatever

Steel and copper have different conductivity. There's a reason we use copper for electronics; few metals were as good a balance of cost and conductivity.

If they're quietly changing over from copper leads to steel, that means components won't be within the correct specifications anymore.

A little salt in the water increases conductivity.

The three main stats in my rpg would be

- largesse
- conductivity
- undulation

Garlean uniforms are made mostly from carbon fiber and cermet alloys. The armor of officers is coated in a substance that decreases aetherial conductivity, therefore protecting the wearer from magic attacks.

Two-dimensional polyaniline crystal with metallic out-of-plane conductivity - Nature
A multilayer-stacked two-dimensional polyaniline crystal shows high electrical conductivity and unique out-of-plane metallic transport behaviour, indicating potential for strong electronic coupling beyond in-plane interactions and three-dimensional metallic conductivity.

Arcanists are still debating whether such decorations on their tomes affect their aetherial conductivity. Most just find them amusing and adorable.

Graphene is the thinnest two-dimensional material in existence and is 200 times stronger than steel. It is also the most conductive material on Earth, excelling in both electrical and thermal conductivity.
