#contextualized
Literally anything Noem, Tricia McLaughlin, or ICE says needs to be contextualized with the fact that they lie constantly and shamelessley
As you evaluate this from Kristi Noem, remember that when a federal agent shot a woman in Chicago last year, DHS's initial version of events was full of lies that fell apart under subsequent scrutiny:

under a contextualized originalist interpretation of the Constitution, Supreme Court judges should be required to die of natural causes in their late 60s.

This process forced you to learn in pieces: first, what were you looking for broadly, where the information was contained, then pieces as you flipped through the book looking for the right thing, and finally the information, now contextualized.

It would be nice if, at the very least, the people reporting on this stuff properly contextualized it by explicitly stating that if the president can do this the union has ceased to exist. It's not hyperbole or figurative language. There is no union. "Unconstitutional" doesn't cover it.

This is easily the best book I've read this year. It's not 'new' information but rather the way it is contextualized; so damned good.

Halp halp I’ve been contextualized

Perfectly contextualized.

Sentences are (famously) contextualized by adjacent sentences.

why the ever loving fuck are our lives contextualized as elite

how does any human being fall for such made-up horseshit
There should be no attempt to launder the reputation of the New York Times nor legitimize it as a paper of record. It is a rag, and the people who write for it contribute to it.

Expanded and contextualized, now on Medium

Yesterday on Bluesky, I came across this post.

the amount of white dudes who listened to Rage Against the Machine and contextualized it as "angry at mom because she told me to clean my room music" instead of "dad is fucking up the entire planet music" is entirely too fucking high.
whoa you mean tom morello isn’t into electoralism holy shit next you’ll tell me he sings about wildcat strikes and other criminal activity

Apparently, the original post I cited from @auschwitzmemorial.bsky.social was deleted and replaced to correct for the brother's outcome. I'll repost the photograph so my previous remark is contextualized:

sunstone is a mature audience targeted slice of life romantic comedy dealing with the lives and relationships of a group of bdsm enthusiasts. as such it treats relationships both emotional and sexual in a mature way and not just as mature content.

that means everything is contextualized

I have zero issue with in-depth, contextualized critiques of liberalism: what I’m talking about is people who identify as on the left (like myself) using “liberal” as an insult all the time without context or explanation.

That’s usage that makes good people who identify as liberal catch strays.

Trump doesn't want to be President; he wants its trappings: Wealth, grift, adoration, non-restraint, legitimization, grandiosity. Analysis of what he'll say or do is not properly contextualized. He'll golf, shmooze and bloviate. Others will endanger us. He is the emissary, the carrier, the parasite.

I'm not here to be like "older people can't have wisdom". I'm just pointing out that that insight needs to be contextualized. He's speaking of another era.

I *literally* lol’d at this magnificent act of self-inflicted dick-punching (if you’re new here: I was an army brat; I do not need this explained or contextualized, thanks)
I know these guys are all dumber than a sack of hammers, but it is fascinating to see the military decide “logistics are gay” in real time

If one is a public figure online it helps to know that most people don't see you as an actual human person - you're essentially a fictional character, presumably insulated by "fame" and/or money, and can be treated as such. Once I knew this, it contextualized/compartmentalized the nonsense I'd get.
humans are not designed for the amount of feedback being a public figure on social media provides. Whether it's praise or criticism, receiving an avalanche of nonstop attention is profoundly corrosive to your brain.

dissatisfied by the New York Times coverage of Zohran Mamdani?

great news! I talked to the guy Thursday about his campaign’s success at bringing community together beyond this election, and contextualized how it’s potentially shifted youth engagement with politics by simply listening @teenvogue.com
Zohran Mamdani's Establishment-Fighting Campaign Built Community for Young People
“What Mamdani has done is not only inspire and mobilize young people, but he has exposed the establishment and some of their calcified views of participation and inclusion.”
