#cross-genre
Now that the Artemis II mission got people excited about space again, can we bring back that 1970s trend where musicians wrote a ton of cross-genre spaceship related songs?

I think the best way for Mike White to cement his cross-genre legacy would be for him to produce a reality show in which players compete to be cast on the next season of White Lotus

My master is the master of cross genre horror, mixing fantasy, mystery, crime, survival horror and so much more. I think he gets bored easy. Anyway, you can check out his stuff here: 🐶

Daggerheart seems a lot more interested in being cross-genre than D&D does

I think the reason romantasy is dwarfing sales of fantasy & sci-fi is that it's a subset of romance.

And romance is the biggest, most profitable category in literature.

Romantasy allowed romance readers, who read very widely, to take cross-genre romance mainstream & it's reaping the rewards.

one of the funny truths you learn if you write in the cross-genre romance space is that people who don't like the sex will hallucinate massive amounts of it in your book, and people who wanted more sex will be able to estimate an exact sex word count within like 75 words.

They'll both be mad tho.
It's literally a scene and a half, so in the big scheme of things, not that much

New blog post! Let's say an effect you are interested in varies between countries and you want to explain some of that cross-cultural variation.

What could possibly go wrong?

I always say country music is a genre I'm not a fan of but I don't hate it. I absolutely HATE Christian cross genre music. Gospel rap, Christian rock, it's all ass😭

rpgs have always been a popular genre with worldwide cross pollination and different evolutionary lines. jrpg style games made in the west growing in popularity is just another extension of wizardry style games blowing up in japan in the 80s. everyone's in conversation with each other

I create music in a genre my dear follower described as “dark experimental.” Interestingly, though, what I listen to most in daily life is relaxation music, something completely different from what I make myself. I love that kind of cross-genre dialogue, and it’s something I truly enjoy.

Queer romance in particular has been revelatory for me. There are many wonderful books in the genre that explore remarkable cross sections of the human condition. They've taught me a lot.

Reinvent is tricky, because “became an inflection point in a genre “ and “did something new and wild in a genre” do not necessarily cross over.
