Having now confirmed that the hotspot is working ok on my budget friendly internet connection I have disconnected it from Hubnet for today, it will still periodically transmit POCSAG paging data for DAPNET though not all of it goes to my pager #hamradio

I have one, I use it via DAPNet and an MMDVM, they're great fun 😊

I have now switched from Pi-Star to WPSD for DAPNET and POCSAG. I hope this runs more reliably.

It's been a while since @duskythewusky.bsky.social gave me these radios at a Scotiacon many years ago (at least I think they both came from him - thanks!) and now I finally have them set up and running. Packet/APRS and DAPNET.
Now I "just" need to find a blank SD card and set up the Pi...!

There is a POCSAG network for amature called DAPNET you might be interested in.
Besides that you can send test POCSAG messages using the MMDVM CLI tools. :3

Nice! I wish more repeaters carried dapnet out here. Right now I use a hotspot for my pager and wrote some python programs to relay messages and weather alerts based on my APRS location.

Nice! I wish more repeaters carried dapnet out here. Right now I use a hotspot for my pager and wrote some python programs to relay messages and weather alerts based on my APRS location.

439MHz台は日本ではできない旨はDAPNETの事務局へ連絡しています
山の上で10Wとかが複数動くようになったら日本の周波数決めないとだめでしょうね
(端末によっては438MHz以上しか設定できない物があるようです)

西日本豪雨の頃に始めた私設ポケベルのDAPNET、未だに日本にはうちしか無いのよね
単4が1本で2週間ぐらいは持つよ
時刻も1分ぐらい放置で勝手に合うし(但しUTC)
Pi-Starに標準装備なのであとはアカウント取って端末用意するだけ

Looking into the kit, how it works, the coding required, etc.
Spotted some nice looking 70cm based pagers on eBay, but couldn't see the ric/rid numbers, which could cause an issue if bought for the sole use for POCSAG/Dapnet paging.

Es geht mir als S6 nicht aus dem Kopf wie man viele Helferinnen und Helfer alarmieren könnte. Ich komme immer wieder an einen Sender viele Pager alls Empfänger. hampager.de#/
