The permanent settlement which eventually became Noyimarr was a stopping point along an ancient migration route that went from the Rugged Mountains' interior and up the Dawnbreaks. It was situated on the promontory that's now the site of the Citadel. 🧵

Good morning #Septopolis.

Regardless of its current form (unless it is quite baby of a settlement), it had to have been founded with a purpose in mind.

...and because last year it spilled over for a majority of folks, I'm also lumping the who into this question as well.

From there, Noyimarr became a trade hub for people crossing the Rugged Mountains, Southern Dawnbreaks, and Horizon Lake; and once it became a centre for bronzeworking, it basically became a superpower among the region's city-states and has since become an internationally important trading city. 🪢

“Hello! I’m Rehni Toprek from Krudir Mill in the Dawnbreaks, but I’m currently living in Noyimarr. It’s nice to meet everyone.

“My author is… Shaking his head. It’s just me? Okay, it’s just me for this. That’s fine.”

Let's meet all those characters you plan on interviewing throughout the month. If they fell like it, let them talk about you as an author, too. Let's here some interesting facts about them!

Winter is a cold and quiet season. It snows heavily in the Rugged Mountains and enough along the Dawnbreaks to force roads closed. It's common for bitter katabatic winds to rush from the mountains into the lowlands. So yeah, people are mostly keeping indoors. 🧵

Good morning, #SeptemberWorldbuilders! Last but not least, we have WINTER. Tell me what winter is like in your setting. Is it a time of joy with fun Christmas-like holidays, or is it dreadful, cold, and full of horrors? What festivals or symbols do you have in your world for winter?

The big feature is Horizon Lake, which fills a 150km wide impact crater and facilitates both interior + seabound trade.

Running north-south are the Dawnbreaks, smaller mountains that are the source of most of the realm’s rivers and divide the coastal temperate area from the inner arid region.
