also if your router has shitty firmware, you can flash it with ddwrt, which there are also guides on and it's very easy

I wish my router could run ddWRT, but it's not in the devices list and we have Bonded DSL so our modem/router options are limited

Если юзаеш прошивку DDWRT, то всё-таки проверь клиентов на незнакомые девайсы. Я не говню на саму прошивку, (она в целом хороша) Но старые версии имеют дырки. Ко мне так 20 девайсов подключились и майнили на моей машинке крипту.

I used to run DDWRT on an old ASUS RT-n16 router for many years, and I really liked it.
I still have another ASUS router in the living room but it is currently serving as a wireless AP only for additional WiFi coverage.
Will look at the current ASUS router offerings and OpenWRT!

I live in China so picking up 360s and ps3s is a bit of a pain. But i did follow your ps3 tutorial before giving mine to my nephew.
In fact finding a router with enough space to ddwrt was impossible and I had to have one secretly imported.

Shot in the dark but does anyone have consumer router recs for running openwrt? I have been using the same router for 10 years with ddwrt and now that I have gigabit internet I'm pretty sure there's no way to configure it to leverage anything above 500Mbps.
