Operation Moonbeam is underway to maintain order on Bonfire Night
In Edinburgh on Thursday evening there is a huge co-ordinated police response in place to ensure the safety of the public and emergency services. Police Scotland has improved its plans for 5 November to meet additional demands. Additional officers will be deployed with support of colleagues from England and Wales. There is a European football match on tonight and the police say they are aware of potential protest activity. Each year, additional specialist support is provided to local policing divisions to address any issues relating to fireworks-related disorder as part of Operation Moonbeam.
