Decided to take a crack at digitally coloring in another of Rob's fantastic ships, with shading and flat colors. I hadn't intended to give it a Gallian livery, but I didn't try all that hard to avoid it either. Anyway, go look at all of his other work.

New character reference sheet for Amari Rumi (they/them), a shapeshifting opossum necromancer standing at just 66.6cm tall. Amari has pale skin with various stitched on chunks of desaturated purple flesh, including one diagonally across their face. They have 5 eyes on their face all with black sclera & with varying iris colors and pupil shapes. There are two more eyes on each of their palms, four eyes on their demon wings, and a chest cavity barely sewn together absolutely chock full of spare eyeballs. Their opossum ears are slightly asymmetric and have pink tips & piercings, and they sport small demon horns. Their hair is bright green with a choppy mullet & long raccoon tails down to their belly, with a dark purple accenting the stripes and the ends of their hair. Their opossum tail is a black/purple to pink ombre and has a bandage. Their demon wings are almost as large as they are & are two different shades of purple, with stitches and the previously mentioned eyes. Their outfit starts with a distressed crop top with bleach splatters & an o-ring and chain detail on the neckline. They wear a pair of Tripp-style pants with one leg zipped off, accessorized with suspenders, a studded belt, and a spiked collar-type decoration around one leg. And their knee-high boots have bright green accents & monster teeth around the front of the tall soles. The ref sheet includes a nude reference of their patchwork as well as their tattoos placement, their personal dagger, and their mascot Tuft. Tuft is a gray patchwork teddy bear with a mischievous face, tufts of stuffing poking out of various stitches, and patches in different shades of purples and green and differing patterns. Their claws are dark purple with a bright green ombre on the tips. The dagger has a carved purple & black handle with a bright green teardrop gem & their initials "AR", the blade has a heart shaped cutout and an eye shaped cutout, and several more eyes are carved into the blade. A ref of an alternate outfit, with the same boots as the first ref. Their black sweater is off the shoulders and has holes in it, with purple trim & scratchy text that reads "BABY" on the chest. They are wearing black shorts that are barely visible & a spiked choker with a large O-ring.

I’ve been watching older films from the ‘80s - 90s’ which were genuinely entertaining, escapist and brighter and nicer to look at compared to what we have now. Too much self awareness, cynicism and desaturated colors with many of today’s films.

My Dad is a much different story.

We had this tape of my Mom as a little girl, from the 50s. No sound. I think, highly desaturated color. Just some little family event, or dinner, or something. A little girl in a dress.

When I was little, my Dad would tell me that this was me in a dress.
