Happy to have carried out our annual #conservation #DetectionDog check of St Agnes on #Scilly despite being delayed by fog. Always nice to chat to local community members who remain vigilant for rats throughout the year, particularly fun to inspire the next generation @scillyteacher.bsky.social

Our #biosecurity #conservation #detectiondog team had a great time at the Amble #Puffin Festival with @rspb.bsky.social #Coquet colleagues, demonstrating just how effective dogs are at seeking out their target smell. Not rats in this case but tiny pieces of Kong!

Productive overnight stay on #Lundy with Rachel, & Reid a #biosecurity conservation #detectiondog. We searched a wide variety of sites from the MS Oldenburg, farm buildings, shop stores, waste areas & #TrinityHouse lighthouse areas to key #seabird area gullies - no suspicious rat signs detected.

Love this opening sentence:

That is how I feel about this sport / activity. They get rewarded for doing something that comes very naturally to them. ❤️

Interesting to approach Steep Holm from the west for a change, through Cardiff Bay Barrage & past Flat Holm. We were very lucky to have such a beautiful spring day for our #conservation #detectiondog search of the island. The only thing we found in the wax chew block surveillance boxes were snails!
