I did something similar with Ting, a free device State Farm provided to monitor your electrical wiring. We live in an old house so it was appreciated. This year they changed their terms so Ting (Whiskey Labs are devs) could access all our ins. policies and share with 3rd parties. Fuuuuuck that.

You have to respect the ambition, even when things go spectacularly wrong. 😂

As indie devs dreaming of building a whole fantasy world, stories like this are a friendly reminder that maybe we should get the first game working before planning the empire. 😅

Hey Bluesky, looking to connect with:

Yeah it wasn't a good talk imo. It didn't address any of the reasons why many devs don't like AI. I don't care if AI makes development easier for some people if it comes at a large societal cost and empowers tech oligarchs.

What the hell did you think was going to happen when you spent years saying that devs weren’t making games for “real games” anymore and instead were making games for a supposedly nonexistent audience , when you claimed that women and lgbt developers were “destroying beloved franchises”

If I get into trial by fire like OS development Ill probably just make it for myself and not distribute it as it all this shit with web scrapers is making me curious why devs subject themselves to that.

And that is 4 Layers Down FULLY. COMPLETED.

This was a wonderful experience from start to finish, hats off to Spookyrick and the devs for making this masterpiece.

fucking pathetic

these devs literally want to enable slop-manufacturers and shield them from rightful criticism

The company selling you code generation is now buying code review.

OpenAI is buying Pierre Computer Company to extend Codex for understanding and reviewing code.

Faros AI, 10,000+ devs: +98% merged PRs, +91% review time.

A tool can review. Someone still owns "done."

Like, maybe it is the Western aspect of the team behind Belmont's Curse that makes it feel so different. But there could just as easily be a Castlevania game created by a third party developer in Japan that feels different because it was created by Japanese devs of a different cultural era.

Every once in a while I see people harkening back to the days of devs using the controller in insane ways as some sort of halcyon days of discovery before things became too staid, and I just want to make them actually play some of that stuff

A recurring complaint: software still isn't real engineering. Commenters compared it to civil engineering, arguing technical debt was always a rational business choice. Management rewards shipping features over stability, and devs who pause to build solid foundations get burned. 2/4

backslide turns markdown into remark.js presentations from the cli, perfect for devs who'd rather write slides in their editor than click through ui.

#javascript #cli

Valve has a wild new idea for fighting AI slop on Steam: make developers actually play the games they're selling. Imagine that!

Valve Forces Steam Devs To Play Their Own Games To Fight AI Slop
Steam games now require a game to be run for at least 5 minutes since Valve no longer wishes to 'review builds that have not ever been played throuugh Steam.'

Better yet, we hold multiple pop up arcades, like last time it was in a local forest. And a festival at the end of the year called Playtopia. Look it up. It's real. Cape Town game devs are kicking it. Come visit \m/

i dont ask devs about expedition 33 i ask them about coffee
November 4, 2026 at 7:53 PM
i wish i could start some kind of collective of non-ai devs to work on projects together bc it sure feels lonely in our corner. it's hard enough to maintain solidarity and hope in our communities. our& voices never seems to be enough. our passions fall flat to most ears lately

(?) because one of the devs has mentioned possibly thinking about adding it in the future maybe still

did some random ass mf seriously vibecoded a "recomp" of the ps3 version of sonic 06 when mararthon recomp is literally right there making progress and already showed the awesome features made by devs who's massively against a/i????
November 4, 2026 at 7:45 PM
Oh for sure, but devs would have had to pull the draw distance way closer to get near that poly-count, or compromised by having much lower poly-count assets overall, used 2d billboards instead of 3d assets, etc. Like, it's idealized because you don't have to make those compromises. But, looks great.

Roblox saves that can't duplicate items: Studwright is 16 tested Luau modules (session-locked saves, receipts that never double-grant, codes, rewards, leaderboards, loot with pity, remote guards). Run the free ones in your browser.

this was a whole thing a couple of days ago when that article was published and a lot of people had a big problem with it. just look at the other replies to Danny's post. I think there's some room for nuance and I appreciate the devs addressing it
November 4, 2026 at 7:40 PM
Alot of the pain points for new/returning players have/will be addressed.
The devs are doing overhauls of so much to make the game better.
If you do wana give it a try there's a 10 day free membership event on december 2nd alongside the release of the in game guide system.
