A useful AI code review prompt: identify hidden assumptions, edge cases, race conditions, and missing tests. Ask for evidence and trade-offs instead of accepting a confident-sounding answer. #ClaudeAI #CodeReview #AIEngineering

AI makes it easier to write code. But someone still has to check it works.

If contributors skip those checks, the work falls to open-source maintainers.

What should you check before submitting an AI-assisted pull request?

Kurz geprüft, viel übersehen. Ein gutes Review prüft nicht nur Oberfläche, sondern auch Folgen und Randfälle. 🔍

Show the changed lines, intended behavior, and code that uses the result.
Extra files should answer a concrete question about the change.

farol: an MIT CLI + GitHub Action that scores PR merge risk and shows where it lives - security, contract, coverage. Our run: the official bundled demo report flagged exactly where to look. A score supports review, never permits a merge. Node 22+. #OpenSource #CodeReview #EngageHubtique

What’s the file in your repo everyone is afraid to open before a deadline?

That’s the one DebtDrone looks for first — cognitive complexity + estimated hours to fix.

Drop a redacted path if you want a second pair of eyes on what to scan.

The diff is usually right. The defect sits somewhere the diff did not go.

CodeCrew's merge command won't merge a PR until CI is green, the reviewer has approved it, and every question for a human has an answer. We put that rule in code instead of the agent's prompt, because agents don't always follow prompts.

Enforce review gates for AI coding agents
CodeCrew's command line refuses to merge a task or close a milestone until the checks, the review and every human answer are in place.

#AI didn’t break code readability. It broke human reading capacity.

AI-generated code is clean and well-documented - yet practically "WRITE-ONLY" due to the sheer volume produced.

The new bottleneck? Code volume, not complexity.

A function is reusable code. Sorting its result can change a job runner's next choice. Read the caller, the code using that function.

AI helps developers write more code, but it does not help teams ship more product 💡. Code review is the real bottleneck when your team is busy and tired 🤖. Catch regressions automatically before they quiet ship to production ⚡. 👉 upsun.com/blog/dispatc... #CodeReview #AI #DevOps #CICD

Models produce the average of what exists. Taste is knowing where your codebase should differ from it. The scarce skill is reading 180 generated lines and knowing which ten to send back.

My AI agent changed 14 files. I'm not reading 14 files.

I open the flow instead: every endpoint the changes touch, green added, red removed. It shows me where to look.

Nothing says 'readable architecture' quite like chaining five anonymous functions inside a conditional statement without a single comment.
