We're not calling you a whining, delusional parasite, we just have concerns over the potential harms of diagnostic creep. We don't want to deny disabled kids the dignity of an education, we just want a grown-up discussion around the realities of institutional capacity.

Why are we more focused on speculating about a potential outbreak in #DRC with no evidence this is a novel pathogen than we are with the evolving one in the US due to #H5N1.

Both are important and underscore the need for strong health systems and diagnostic capacity everywhere. #globalhealth

"Alberta is quietly ushering in a future where you might wait longer for an MRI—not because other patients are sicker, but because they have more money."

Because Bill 29 won't create more MRIs, health care workers, or capacity. Wait times be damned.

Labour is delivering:

🩻 The biggest expansion of diagnostic capacity for a generation
⏰ Shorter waits for tests and scans
🚗 NHS on the road to recovery.

It’s a record the Tories can’t touch, the SNP can’t match, Plaid Cymru won’t sustain, and Reform would destroy.

Looks like Starmer chose to visit a privately-run diagnostic centre run by Vista / InHealth. Patients may not mind to begin with, but this doesn’t actually build NHS capacity - & I also worry about incentive to overscan. I’ve just been offered a (privately provided) MRI I don’t really need, myself…
🩺 Fantastic to welcome the Prime Minister to the North Bristol Community Diagnostic Centre here at Cribbs.

This new site helps people get seen more quickly.

Today marks the Labour Government delivering 2 million extra NHS appointments nationally - and 7 months early.

Change is happening.

Last fall I incorporated a number of in-class, handwritten assignments into my undergrad class & found that starting off this way gave me diagnostic insight into the students' writing abilities, their capacity to critically discuss the material, etc. I also threw in a few handwritten pop quizzes.
Gave the students fancy (retro) notebooks and they loved them.
This is not at all a surprise. 🍎🎢 #HigherEd

New rules permit Albertans to "purchase diagnostic screening tests including MRIs, CT scans, x-rays & ultrasounds, without a doctor’s referral."

AKA: Legislated queue-jumping for the wealthy.

This doesn't add capacity, it just changes who's at the front of the line. Read FOM's response on Friday👇
While Canada’s Premiers met this week, Alberta quietly reclassified all preventive testing as non-insured extended health services. Laying groundwork to delist health services from public coverage?

Yet another step towards two-tier health care.

If functional assessments only take into account the ability to perform physical tasks, then many people with psychosocial disabilities who need NDIS support will be at great risk www.unsw.edu.au/newsroom/new...
NDIS eligibility will be based on ‘functional capacity’, not diagnostic labels. But what does that mean?
The government plans to cut the number of NDIS users by 160,000 over the next four years. Here’s what we know about how they’ll do that and who’ll be affected.

Nope, not diagnostic. Can't speak to your capacity, though your sentence formatting and formation is certainly better than that headline!
