Republicans always destroy the economy, yet Americans continue to vote for them because they supposedly “know how to handle the economy.”

This is what happens when education fails and digital lobotomization is deployed throughout the media.

Evil bigoted nerds openly admitting to pushing the US economy off a cliff because they sold digital snake oil for years
Hey all, quick question: is it good that mark zuckerberg’s answer to “are we in a bubble” was “yeah, maybe, but don’t worry, it’s just like the dot com boom,” a point easily-disproved? Isn’t he meant to be the guy who has a real answer? Is this good? Hello?!

An entire thesis about the consequences of the digital attention economy could be written based on this post alone
We first started this story after noticing streamer Vitaly Zdorovetskiy playing Stake casino games while doing his "pedophile catch" videos, where he would sometimes play on his phone *with* the alleged predators on stream.

lmao this is an incredibly diplomatic way to describe the digital child sweatshop gig economy producing entirely unregulated gambling for an audience that’s a 90/10 ratio of kids to pedophiles. classic creative disruption

it's going to take a massive coordinated media blitz to make "hungover man send email" seem cool but it's vital for the long term continuation of the digital economy
I want to make clear for a second with this comment, it’s not just the green dipshit in this particular thread, it’s the entirety of 21st century fucking politics doing this now. Republicans want manufacturing job where hungover man swings hammer, because of aesthetic.
One of Deng’s quips was that “it doesn’t matter what color a cat is as long as it catches mice”. It does not matter how the economy is organized, it matters if people are fed.

Maoism was obsessed with the aesthetics of the economy, the people running blast furnaces in fields. We’re doing the same

Our 21st century society / economy / democracy revolves around digital technology and the Internet, yet Canada's political class is just recklessly incompetent at digital policy

I can't stress this enough – Liberal, NDP, Conservative, whatever, Canadian MPs are totally clueless about digital policy

Donald Trump's administration terminated the implementation of @illinoisdceo.bsky.social's Digital Equity Capacity Grant.

Instead of enabling Illinoisans to participate in our economy, he's turning his back on rural America, veterans, seniors, and those who rely on internet access.

Flying economy to Calgary: $200?

Hiring a digital content agency to announce to Facebook that you’re flying to Calgary in an economy-class seat to “brand” yourself as an everyday working joe: $20,000?

This excellent film may start a little slow, but stick with it. It's a powerful short documentary about neo-colonial exploitation in the digital economy.
An incredible and beautiful short documentary by Nicolas Gouralt who interviewed online workers from Venezuela, Kenya and the Philippines who annotate images to train A.I. systems.

Here is as gift link.

the greatest trick the digital economy has ever pulled was the 'plucky starving startups are smol beans who just need a regulatory break or two to survive' while being backed by literal billionaires
well no wonder they did not notify the authors their books were being used
phew now it makes sense

The idea that digital ID cards will stop people working in the shadow economy and thus reduce small boat crossings is baffling

The very nature of the shadow economy (the only way asylum seekers can find work) is employers don’t check documents.. That would obviously continue with ID cards
