Mixing up some Disablot incense. Had to look high and low to find where I put the gladiolus petals. All done for tonight #heathensky #pagansky #witchsky #incense

Finally got some time to just sit down, breathe and let the cards speak (instead of me for a change 🤷♀️).
So blessed Imbolc / Dísablót 🕯️✨

I’m celebrating Disablot tonight and made some mushroom shaped lavender shortbread cookies as an offering. They’re messy, but kind of cute!

By the old reckoning, tonight's moon marked the Disting at Uppsala. Some hold a dísablót at this time instead of or in addition to the traditional one in Fall. In the states we're doubly lucky tonight with a blood moon. Gleðilegt dísablót if you celebrate! #heathen #pagan #fornsidr #asatru #vanatru

Hi!
I guess I’m trying to figure this app out. Here’s a pic of my altar, though I intend to redecorate it for Disablot one of these days.

Question for other Heathens: Álfablót and Dísablót seem mostly set up for the gender binary. How/when do you honor ancestors that don't fit the gender binary?
At Álfablót?
At Dísablót?
At both? (Double Honor for enbies!)
Some other way/at some other time?

An extraordinary Anglo-Saxon sword has been uncovered in England, offering a glimpse into early medieval power and ancestral memory. Meanwhile, the calendar stirs. It might be Lupercalia. It’s certainly St. Valentine’s Day, and possibly Dísablót. Late winter...

Mōdraniht (Mothers’ Night) is conceptually related to the Norse Dísablót, though they come from different yet interconnected Germanic traditions. Both festivals focus on honoring female spirits or divine beings, and both are tied to themes of fertility, protection, and the cycle of life and death.

Today is the day I chose to celebrate Disablot.
The exact day this was is unknown. It was held in Þorri, this is mid Jan-mid Feb.
It is a time to thank and honour the Disir, your female ancestors.
