Dwarrow! Brilliant word, I get why he's kicking himself

The Dwarrow are entirely cthonic. Mythically, it’s said they are bears who never left their caves. Physically, they are quite well adapted to underground life. Politically, it’s the only place safe from those fucken elves.
#anthropologyAugust

Today, let’s talk about subterranean groups. We all know the classic dwarves, but does your world have any other groups that live underground?

Are there groups that have to live underground and can’t come to the surface?

Or just groups that choose to live underground?

This page may be another long wait, I know where I'm going with this I'm just particular about certain things.

Here's some random drawings for the time being.

Dwarrow lore, Jedi lore, random lore you made up for whatever fandom you love cause the author didn’t bother to, I’m here for it!

The Stepped Vaults of Kar’Zuun

These old dwarven vaults are overrun with elemental stone tierjackals commanded by the Stair-Sovereign - last of the Stratim Dwarrow. The documents are lost, but the Sovereign has carved what they remember into their secret chambers.

i knew i had a good whack of Dwarrow plotlines written that I cut from my book "Atop the Trees, Beneath the Mountains" early in the process, some years ago now

i think i just found it. i did not remember it was 130,000 words, wow

Also, wow, I think Illúvatar put a weird compulsion of “mastery” in his life. His Men suffer it worst of all, and Aulë's dwarrow, but there are plenty of elves who need to capture and hold things and beings. Fangorn slanders the entwives with this. Hobbits seem largely immune?

Pathfinder Dwarves aren't *that* short (~4' traditionally), some of their most typical non-dwarrow foes are their height or shorter, and everyone is a lot shorter if you knock them over/break their knees first.

Paralelamente, estoy viendo la peli en VOSE y ¿están utilizando el plural dwarves en vez del canónico dwarrow que específicó Tolkien? 😭😡

Humans and alfar have the most going on here tbh. Nothing much changes with the Great Beast, maybe they get angrier? Undead and Dwarrow are resistant, if not immune, to celestial influences. That only leaves the Vermen, who live in perpetual bitter squalor and hateful darkness anyway.

In a world of barbarians, the Great Beast is on another level. The Alfar are mired in esotericism and hedonism, the Vermen only exist in opposition, the Dwarrow and Undead struggle for a place, and Humans are doomed to create, destroy, and repeat. But they all have culture. The Beast? It eats.

In lieu of repeating myself again, here's a snapshot of a Great Beast win condition: the Dwarrow all cracked open, their inner alchemy slurped up. The remains of the immortal Alfar recycled and still continue to, in some unspeakable fashion, exist across generations.

#AprilWorldbuilders. This one ties to next week's questions where we get into social aspects of your fantasy species/race. Today's Q: What do they eat? Do they eat roughly the same foods that humans do or is their diet more specialized?

Realistically, this new LOTR movie will likely bomb. This gen is not the last gen, and they have original IPs that HAVENT been done, like Wings of Fire.

The mithril has been mined, fellow dwarrow. Stop.

Non-humans are less in number and rather tight knit.
Immortal Alfar think it makes them superior and that they should focus/abuse it, those without it practice caution and semi-pacifism--they don't want to be found.
Dwarrow stonefolk are intensely practical as a rule.
Vermen HATE YOU. End of.

For the sterile, immortal Asalfar and Khanalfar, it's purely recreational. For the mortal Valfar, reproduction (almost) only. The Great Beast reproduces asexually--by eating! Undead can repair themselves. Dwarrow carve new members and its a whole process complex to the point of absurdity.

Dwarrow are all about the bonds of complex lineage and maintaining their relationship with humans, but pride makes deep divides between individuals.

Vermen and the Great Beast are perhaps the most viciously community-minded of all. The former despise all life, the latter want to eat it.

The only place where none of this exists is with the Dwarrow, the rock people, whom the gods had no hand in even influencing. These dudes don't even have religion. They can go see their actual progenitor. Prestige through lineage is their thing, and it is Complicated.

Dwarrow, literally being made stone, do not use it, but some cultivate it upon their persons and trade it with humans.

Great Beast Ogres devour it by the trough-full to make the goblins fermenting inside them grow strong and green.

Even the hateful, bitter, spiteful Vermen mutants use it!
