I resigned from ExxonMobil today. I spent the last three years doing fossil fuel extraction research at both BP and ExxonMobil. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing to maximize extraction while the window to act closes, and gambling with our lives. More below.

Electric powered freight & tractors in the Australian context still are not a thing, for pretty solid reasons. I know euro biodiesel was an ecodisaster, but as a matter of national security I think domestic biodiesel capacity should be looked at very very closely.

I have always felt like a time traveler; my grandmother and wise aunties guiding me. I doubt that this world is the future they imagined. Survived wars, genocide, repeated natural disasters, martial law, and cultural erasure. Only for us to choose fascist dictators, capitalist grind, & ecodisaster.

On a whim, rewatched Star Trek 4 (the one with the whales) and I forgot how damn good it was. It's essentially a fish out of water story/ecodisaster film/screwball comedy but it works.
It also has some of the best shots of the ST films. I mean, ST4 didn't need to go this hard, but it did.
