Holy cow. Black turnout, duh, through the roof in MS

(Ecological fallacies don't apply the day after an election)

I do think this is unfair to slugs, which have an ecological role.
Thankfully he has the charisma of a slug someone just dumped salt on

It's A Very Ecological Vengeance Christmas.
Here's an early Christmas present-- a sneak peek of my Poison Ivy story in DC's Naughty List #1, in shops on Nov 25th!

This was such an absolute dream to work on!

Ecological, so imperfect, but counties and districts with more young people are swinging much more heavily towards the Democrats, compared with 2024

A species is a lineage that has a distinct evolutionary fate from other lineages.

The so-called species concepts (biological, phenetic, phylogenetic, ecological etc.) are not definitions but diagnostic approaches or algorithms for how to identify the appropriate lineages at the appropriate scale.
hey biology bsky, i'm crowdsourcing for a slide in class. reply to this with your best attempt to succinctly but comprehensively define the concept of "species" in a single skeet.

Understanding how rising CO2 levels in the atmosphere lowers the pH of the oceans is ecological equivalent of having a working knowledge of compound interest.

People who are obsessed with side/obscure/unpopular characters truly are doing the overall fandom a huge service. They're keeping the ecological diversity of the fandom alive. Can you imagine if our food supply dwindled to only a handful of characters and ships? The hiatuses would devastate us.

Some people think I want to live in 1968 but that's not actually true. I want to live in my own optimistically edited version of 1968, with no sexism or racism, a high level of ecological consciousness and much more adventurous food.

#MMT Card 2 of 12, Real and Ecological Limits.
Icon: A wind turbine and a tree. Spending is constrained by real and ecological limits, not financial ones.
Inflation and resource use, not deficits or debt, are the key risks.

One of the great ironies of our wrecked landscapes is that, while the number one problem is often chronic overgrazing (farmed cattle, sheep, wild deer, goats...), there's also serious dysfunction due to the lack of ecological disturbance from wild megaherbivores.

Great to see this being addressed.
The exciting frontier of rewilding: this is a 'tauros', a back bred analogue of the extinct aurochs, now living semi-wild in a number of European locations including Croatia...

For decades, wildlife policy has defined recovery as survival, keeping species alive, but not truly allowing them to live. From wolves to grizzlies to bison, we’ve settled for the bare minimum. (1/2)

Wildlife recovery means more than just survival of a species
Current laws that deem species safe from extinction ignore their ecological role, geographic range and genetic diversity, as well as their relationships with people.

A review paper led by Daniel Vedder, assessing agent-based models for studying agriculture as a complex & dynamic Socio-Ecological System.

'Ecological thinning' isn't forest restoration – it's logging rebranded. Trees are cut, hauled out by heavy machinery and trucked to sawmills, leaving forests drier, debris-laden and more fire-prone. WA has already sold nearly 200,000 tonnes under this label. #auspol #forests
