impermissible editorializing: Dems Are Poised To Do Well

permissible incisive reporting: Dems May Fuck This All Up
There's a difference between a blowout and a mandate. Confusing the two could tempt Democrats to overread the results and forget the serious credibility problem they still face heading into 2028.
Democrats could learn wrong message from a blowout victory
A big Election Night could mask the party's larger image problem.

Sickening feels like unusual editorializing for a headline but the man did take a flying knee to the chest and died

NYT being trash in their editorializing and leaving out key details that harm anyone remotely left politically? No, that’s impossible /s

Almost. A little editorializing about his BUTT would have put it over the top…
November 2, 2026 at 2:02 PM
Has this festered into fact now? Cuz:

1. Peltola denies it; 2. the "source" retracted her statement; 3. the supreme court in AK ruled on it in August; 4. a week of reporting and editorializing hasn't turned up any evidence, just sabre rattling and pearl clutching.

Sickening is objectively apt. That’s not editorializing.

Ugh.

Is it "reporting" when you describe a "danger zone" for a candidate without substantiating it? That sounds like editorializing based on your own biases... clearly a lot of readers here appreciate his measured acquiescence to these bad-faith baits from folks like Stevens.

Always a delight to learn what is and what is not considered "editorializing" at our top media outlets, *NYT fires someone whose job is literally Editorializing to punish them for seeing criticism expressed by a third party* edition

BREAKING: The New York Times fired a columnist because she reposted my Bluesky post!
My post was a repost-with-comment after @marisakabas.bsky.social questioned NYT's failure to report on a woman's on-the-record accusation that Trump raped her in 1993.
Honestly in shock.

@nytimes.com terminated the contract of romance fiction columnist Olivia Waite because she reposted on Bluesky criticism I and @markjacob.bsky.social had of the paper’s lack of coverage of the new rape allegations against Donald Trump.

Details and a statement from Olivia here:

Who is interviewing who here? The extent to which Douthat is editorializing with his question makes me wonder.

"a Democratic plan to stack the ballot in her favor"

Boy, that seems like the type of editorializing in a headline that you seem desperate to avoid at all costs most of the time. Strange.

(Me editorializing: disparate impact is absolutely the right way to think about this. If you want to operate under the aegis of equality/equal protection, you need to accept that it sounds in disparate impact)

Watch with sound off until a candidate speaks. Hard pass on editorializing.

Personally, it's much better to see the data on a a map than random editorializing
November 4, 2026 at 6:09 AM
I hope that was an opinion piece because that is clearly editorializing.

I think the part about mills is mostly WEBs editorializing.
November 1, 2026 at 8:02 PM
I mean this is a problem though there's no shortage of editorializing pundit stuff already, but people getting less connected from actual reporting over time means it's all mythology and stories of other stories.
November 2, 2026 at 5:56 PM
She’s so confounding lol. Did you talk to dingle “she agrees with me” so did you talk to her? “Nice editorializing!”

Basic cable news needs to stop editorializing and get into what the hell is going on in Mississippi

I think they’re editorializing. And I’m here for it.

Bad editorializing. El-Sayed is leading by 6% with 20% of the votes in Wayne left to count. Any other election night and that's a comfortable margin.

Might have been some degree of editorializing or 2nd hand reporting.

This was the summarized comment from the City's EHON Roundtable report (top of pg 90, www.toronto.ca/wp-content/u...)

Actually, Melat Kiros' top two priorities were getting money out of politics and passing Medicare for All. Abdul El-Sayed and Zohran Mamdani also didnt focus on this.

Sad editorializing by Denverite. They're missing the actual story about this race and the moment.

Fuck NYT Connections for editorializing this close to an election.

The NYT reporter who did the Alaska hit piece did a long sympathetic story on rural white Republicans facing California Dems’ new House map.

It barely mentions the many more new GOP gerrymanders—mostly targeting Black & Latino Dems—at the end.

Many other examples, like this sexist portrayal of AOC
