The idea that the Supreme Court's rulings to gut the Voting Rights Act, in an effort to help Republicans win elections, could be the thing that motivates Black voters in the South to stop Republicans from winning elections, is delicious.
National media is an elite White space that misses a lot of major stories that pertain to minority politics. Two stories that are massively under reported at the moment 1.) ICE will be Texas' Prop 187. The sleeping Latino Giant electorate has awakened 2.) Gutting the VRA upended Southern politics.
There are now at least 15 counties in TX where the total early/mail vote has exceeded the total turnout from 2022, including election day votes. These counties are clustered in south Texas/RGV, Dallas, Houston, and Austin metros.
