Find out your US Reps religion of choice. Like Jack Bergman MI-01 is a member of the Lutheran Church, ELCA synod. Perhaps he needs to be reminded of the position of the ELCA in regards to immigration.

apparently this has to be reiterated to some folks, but a HUGE chunk of services and support for immigrants in the US come from _liberal Christian groups_, and have, for decades.

For another option, ELCA Lutherans are virtually theologically identical - close enough that they do cross-ordination (I have a friend who went to an ELCA seminary but straight into an Episcopalian church.) Also definitely worth looking into!
