The City of #GreaterSudbury is removing 1,500 #AshTrees from municipal properties, as most have or will succumb to the #EmeraldAshBorer beetle. The insect has wreaked havoc across North America, destroying all kinds of #trees. CGS will replace lost trees.

Greater Sudbury’s efforts to remove diseased ash trees to continue
Damaged by the emerald ash borer, the diseased trees can become a safety hazard.

As I was on my walk yesterday, this snappy-dressing little guy was on his. While I've accomplished little in the last twenty years, he's killed many millions of ash trees. Impressive. Yes, and just something else you can do nothing about.

Another illustration for a school project, this time of the emerald ash borer. Despite being less than an inch long, these little guys have caused billions of dollars in damages!

This is a great rule! I have been so fortunate to have this, though the tree canopy is going through a big transition in my neighbourhood due to #DutchElmDisease #EmeraldAshBorer #TwoLineOakBeetle It will get worse before it gets better. #Minneapolis
The “3-30-300 Rule” — everyone should be able to see three trees from their home, have 30% tree canopy in their neighborhood, and live within 300 metres of a high-quality green space.

Emerald Ash Borer (Agrilus planipennis) damage. 🪲 Larvae eat tree tissue under bark creating swirly paths and borer holes. Sadly, many of our Ash have died but their snags benefit wildlife. Nature is healing & we’re seeing an increased of hickory, oaks, and cedars. #emeraldashborer
