Yes, agree that most #EntArch folks wouldn't be thrilled with the task of organizing + standardizing observability approaches. But it's what's needed right now.

Managing complexity at this level will enable/allow agentic AI to be effective here.

Yes, I notice that many vendors has essentially equated observability with turning log files into alert systems and dashboards.

But that's just the beginning, and even this must be done very intelligently to be useful.

A place for #EntArch, though not often wanted.

I had a ton of fun writing this blog post on enterprise architecture and modelling the strategy and business layers of an organisation. You can read the blog post here: www.architecting.biz/2025/04/06/p...

A1: Yes, most #IT projects should have well-defined success metrics.

Just be sure to update them as you learn more. The #KPIs you thought were key at the beginning often need to be changed based on contact with reality.

Hardest one: #EntArch projects w/ many (re)uses.

There's a new member of our EntArch weekly call, and I'm trying real hard to pay attention. HOWEVER:

His New England accent is so thick, that all I can hear is every single one of my wife's Masshole uncles.

Going out on a limb here and saying ... if you post an #EntArch job requiring 10+ years experience and tack on "must have [specific programming language] experience" ... you're doing it wrong.

I have written this draft for a blog post on strategy, capabilities and products: www.architecting.biz/2025/03/30/s...

I have used Archi to produce the models. Please feel free to reach out if you have comments or ideas. #EntArch #Archi

IT strategy & enterprise architecture (EA) are two sides of the same coin. Good EA facilitates a realistic IT strategy, while a clear IT strategy gives EA its purpose. Alignment for maximum impact! #ITstrategy #EntArch

This is probably a silly question for the Archimate language people out there: Do you use plateaus when mapping transitional states of IT-strategies? #EntArch

Are there any good sources on the state of Archimate language out there? #Archimate #ArchimateLanguage #EntArch
