The ES350e seems like its sole purpose is to make BEVs look bad. Just like Charger Daytona. They are just scape goats for their manufactures to say “we sell an EV” while also being able to say “see how bad EVs are, why would you ever want one”.

Hello Lexus ES, American version of Toyota's upcoming Chinese-market bZ7. Interesting turn of development. New EV-capable GA-K platform is clearly a tallboy. This sedan has a huge footprint too. Methinks it's more than just an ES replacement. We'll see. That glass roof better open, mutherf**ker.

The moonroof better open though. Sick of this trend of fixed glass roofs. That's a deal killer in our household. Not that we'd consider this car, but it's a terrible trend that affects many future cars.
I think this could replace the afterthought Lexus LS too. It's huge. It's getting executive level options. And do Lexus buyers outside of me care which wheels drive the car? To that point, should I grab an IS500 while I can? If my loser-ish career existence allows, indefinitely would get one. Interesting to see the base price of the ES350e (EV) comes in a wee bit less than the ES350h (hybrid).
The economies of scale of using the same motors and battery packs with the bZ and upcoming Highlander EV is probably helping a little bit.
