There's a new review of The Cutting-Off Way on H-War (and also in Ethnohistory). The H-War one, lacking a word limit, is pretty comprehensive.

There’s a whole complicated ethnohistory. The traditional meal in Ireland is Bacon and Cabbage but when Irish people came to American cities they got the next best thing from Jewish Delis that kept kosher so that meant brisket or corned beef.

My third peer-reviewed article is now out with the journal Ethnohistory! It is about Powhatan sovereignty in the early 17th century. My thanks go to a number of friends and colleagues who provided feedback on this article over the past three years. It wouldn’t be possible without so much support!

To my new followers in history departments: My contingent position at Minnesota State University wraps up this term. I’m actively on the job market for a full-time role, but in the meantime, I'm seeking an online teaching opportunity (synchronous/asynchronous) for the spring.

Suggests EP hunting as a method of food procurement would have probably been available and attractive to Plio/Pleistocene hominins.

I am good at entertaining small children. This is all kinds of wrong because I am also good at being a grumpy spinster. I might be good at ethnohistory or writing, but I am not so sure about these things today.

Some truly fantastic historians gathered this weekend in South Georgia for the American Society for Ethnohistory conference at Florida State University, where some really great work is being done in Indigenous studies.
