Everseer was originally aroace due to him being germaphobic and being quite independent. However, after saving Silver, who is mostly ghost who cannot attract/produce germs, changed his mind about showing affection. He doesn’t specialize in any specific techniques, but rather uses all of them, knowing everyone needs different forms of therapy. He has the ability to not only control one’s mind, but also read their thoughts, and look into their past and trauma’s. Splashdown has long, curly, almost wave-like hair. It was originally black, but over the years of going into the ocean face first and hanging out in the depths, the base became a lighter, but dull and dark blue while the blonde tips resemble sand. Fironic is basically just a fire version of GammaJack. Cherry red hair swept the other way and piercing red eyes. Everseer likes to stay pristine, his civilian attire, usually, always professional. I like to think he wants his hair slicked back from his face, but has a stubborn piece always on his forehead.

Hypershock Je ne vais pas décortiquer le nom original, il est assez évident. En revanche, ce qui me fait dire que plusieurs traducteurices travaillaient sur un même fichier, c’est que Hypershock a été traduit en Infrachoc : infra (à un niveau inférieur, en dessous) + choc. Dans l’audio, il se présente comme Hyperchoc. J’ignore la raison pour laquelle le·la traducteurice d’Infrachoc a opté pour ce nom, puisque ce Super a une force et une puissance élevées. Et étant donné la simplicité du nom original, nul besoin de se creuser les méninges ici. Macroburst Pouvoirs : génère des vents de forte puissance. Vole par propulsion atmosphérique en utilisant les courants ascendants et descendants. Caractère : avant sa période Fantasmiques, il était le comparse de Visionman/Chefaugure (cf : partie 1). On le surnommait “le gamin”. Bizarrement androgyne. Il est obsédé par sa coiffure sans cesse perturbée par les tornades qu’il crée. Macroburst se traduit en macrorafale (rafale sous orage provoquée par ses courants descendants). Toutefois, le nom original a été conservé en VF, ce qui est dommage car Macrorafale convient tout à fait pour un nom de Super. Macroburst est un cas intéressant au-delà de la traduction de son nom. Cette personne (et j’emploie cette désignation volontairement) est particulière de par son genre que même la NSA (oui !) ignore. Jugez-en par son fichier en VO [voir l'image suivante] [image de son fichier en VO qui dit : "Personality Team affiliation - Phantasmics - supplies group transportation Prior to Phantasmics, served as sidekick to Everseer Referred to as "the kid" Oddly androgynous, due to constant wind disruption. Is obsessed with maintaining his/her? hairstyle" Sidekick = acolyte, comparse Kid = gamin·e, enfant, gosse Ces termes sont épicènes en anglais comme en français ; l’anglais lui-même est épicène en très grande majorité. “Oddly androgynous” (= bizarrement androgyne) “is obsessed with maintaining his/her ? hairstyle” ; la NSA hésite à employer his (lui) ou her (elle) !

Elastigirl = Elastic + girl (fille) Ce nom a été conservé tel quel en VF, mais dans les sous-titres VQ, il a été traduit en Élastofille ; simple, mais efficace. Après, si on veut pinailler, on pourrait dire Élastofemme car fille est condescendant pour une femme, autant en VF/VQ qu’en VO. Everseer Pouvoirs : vision magnoscopique (microscopique et téléscopique), télépathie et dons divinatoires. Faiblesse : les animaux qui lisent dans les pensées, en particulier les écureuils. Caractère : l’hygiène est une compulsion obsessive chez lui. Préfère éviter tout contact physique. Célibataire. A été suivi par le même psychiatre que Mentalman. Chef des Fantasmiques (composé de Plasmabolt, Macroburst, Psycwave et anciennement Gazerbeam). NB : Everseer et Gazerbeam ont tous deux des pouvoirs liés à la vision (présage/vue) et "they never SAW eye to eye" (ils n'ont jamais pu se VOIR en peinture). C'est objectivement drôle. Ever : de tous les temps Seer : voyant·e, prophète·sse Possible jeu de mots avec overseer (chef d'équipe, responsable, superviseureuse), ce qui est logique, vu qu’il dirige les Fantasmiques Everseer devient Visionman (VF) En soi, je n’ai rien contre la VF, qui est très bien. Seulement, un de mes traits toxiques est que j’évite les anglicismes comme la peste ! J’ai alors pensé à Chefaugure : chef + augure (désigne autant un signe annoncé qu’un personnage qui prédit l'avenir) Pour finir, en VO, son fichier dit : “shared therapist practice with Psycwave” (“cabinet de thérapie partagé avec Psycwave”). Ce segment a été traduit comme suit : “A été suivi par le même psychiatre que Mentalman”. Cela constitue un contre-sens complet ; de plus, qui est Mentalman ? Ce nom n'est cité nulle part ailleurs, Psycwave est UNE Super, et elle a été traduite en Mentalgirl. Voici le genre d'erreurs qu'il faut absolument éviter en traduction car elles peuvent totalement changer la compréhension du récit.
