It's more complex than the reasons I gave but I'm no psychologist so don't understand the ins and outs of it. Also speaking from my experience as an exconservative that noped out when the tea party bullcrap started and a person who encountered people like that both on and offline.

As someone who is an #ExChristian and an #ExConservative I could have told exactly what I believed... Well at least what I had told to believe without someone telling me. Thank God (no pun intended) I don't buy into it anymore and never really did.
How I know these #grifters don't actually believe in these #Christian #Conservative beliefs is they have to be told what they believe. Look at #RiletGaines. Look how #RussellBrand couldn't find one Bible verse that changed his life. Not even Philippians 4:13.
