Wednesday is the last day for nonprofits to apply to participate in this year’s ExtraGive, a day of giving hosted annually by the Lancaster County Community Foundation.

Wednesday is the last day for nonprofits to apply to participate in this year’s ExtraGive, a day of giving hosted annually by the Lancaster County Community Foundation. Slated for Friday, Nov. 20, the 24-hour giving marathon runs from midnight to midnight, primarily accepting online donations through ExtraGive.org, though some offline contributions are also accepted. Eligible nonprofits must be registered as a 501(c)(3) with the Bureau of Charitable Organizations and serve Lancaster County residents. Nonprofits also must provide an audit or independent financial review, as well as a nondiscrimination policy. According to ExtraGive.org, 40,000 donors have raised more than $120 million for more than 500 organizations since the event kicked off in 2012. To encourage giving, the Community Foundation and local business sponsors contribute hundreds of thousands of dollars to the nonprofits based on their success engaging individual donors on the day of ExtraGive. Last year, ExtraGive generated more than $10.3 million for 451 local nonprofits. Nonprofit local news isn't free! It takes reporters, editors, and resources to do this work right. Your donation keeps that work alive. MAKE YOUR DONATION TODAY Faithful Give Meanwhile, the Faithful Give, which kicked off Sunday, will continue to accept donations through midnight Tuesday. The fundraiser culminates with a family celebration from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at The Junction Center, 1875 Junction Road, in East Hempfield Township. The Faithful Give is a community fundraiser exclusively benefiting nonprofits whose missions align with specific beliefs and values within the Christian faith tradition. In 2023, the Christian fundraiser generated more than $700,000 during its inaugural campaign for Christian nonprofits that serve the county. In 2024, it tacked on another $700,000, with donors contributing more than $1.4 million during the three-day event. In 2025, the Faithful Give total grew by another $700,000, with donors contributing more than $2.1 million. For the last two years, Homes for Hope led all participating nonprofits with more than $225,000 in donations, according to faithfulgive.org. The nonprofit partners with companies in the building industry to invest profits from construction projects into communities in need worldwide.
