Super excited to share a new #FAccT2026 paper with Nel Escher and Nikola Banovic! We show that algorithm auditing policies in the US are wildly insufficient, as they don't account for how public sector algorithms actually function in practice.

I'm the one on military sponsorship! #facct2026
You gotta love a session on war and algorithms, with one paper on Israel's war in Gaza and one on military sponsorship of computer vision research, then one about conflict monitoring with LLMs, and then one from a fed.

Co-designing for Compliance: Multi-party Computation Protocols for Post-Market Fairness Monitoring in Algorithmic Hiring
Post-market fairness monitoring is now mandated to ensure fairness and accountability for high-risk employment AI systems under emerging regulations such as the EU AI Act. However, effective fairness ...

New papers at #FAccT2026 and #CHI2026: The EU AI Act mandates fairness monitoring for high-risk AI systems. Yet, fairness monitoring will often require access to sensitive data, and the processing of such data is subject to strict legal protections under the GDPR. How to comply with both at once?

if you are interested in how regulatory design shapes corporations' specific actions, processes, and policies to mitigate the material harms of AI systems, fair lending offers overlooked, key lessons. our new #FAccT2026 paper uncovers a lot of evidence on precisely these questions ⬇️
🧵 How do companies in highly regulated domains actually test their AI systems for and mitigate discrimination? Our new @upturn.org paper at @facct.bsky.social w/ Emily Black, @mbogen.bsky.social, @s010n.bsky.social, and @wesleydeng.bsky.social, tries to answer this question: arxiv.org/abs/2606.02957

New paper in #FAccT2026 by Megha Govindu, myself, Sorelle Friedler and Danaé Metaxa! Motivated by genAI’s potential involvement in media production, we leverage network measures to evaluate gender biases in LLM-generated film screenplays.

Now that AI is writing our movies, will it let women talk?

In our paper, we leverage the #BechdelTest and other social network-based measures to evaluate LLM-generated movie scripts for gender bias. Join us today at ACM #FAccT2026: Thursday, June 25th at 10:45 am in Joyce to hear more!
