This is not true! This Administration will send $608 million to states to construct temporary immigrant detention centers using FEMAs money,

FEMAS mission is still to help people before, during and after disasters. The people of FEMA and the real leaders of the agency do not condone this
FEMA will send $608 million to states to construct temporary immigrant detention centers, like Florida’s notorious “Alligator Alcatraz.”

Meanwhile, Trump is preparing to cut $1 billion in grants that help communities prep for disaster response.

Cruelty is always the priority.

Congress must restore FEMA’s independence, bring staff back to disaster response. Helping Americans in a crisis should be FEMAs mission. Nothing else.

FEMAs gone too, isn’t it?
April 20, 2025 at 6:07 PM
It is worth noting that there was shock and clear disappointment from a lot of FEMAs remaining leadership and staff. It's another gut punch coming straight from Sec Puppy Killer to an agency she is clearly targeting.
Breaking news: Cameron Hamilton, Senior Official Performing the Duties of Administrator, has been fired from FEMA after testifying to the House Oversight Committee yesterday about the future of FEMA.

One more nail in the coffin for FEMAs true purpose—-helping people who are hurting. #Trump and #MAGA ruin lives.

Don’t be silly, he’s doing this intentionally so he can siphon off some of FEMAs funds into his own pockets through some kind of shell company scam.

We just can’t. All the cuts, everywhere, they all affect FEMAs ability to respond effectively. But mark our words. In the end fingers will be pointed saying FEMA is/was ineffective.

So 50 mini FEMAs, many with limited and overlapping resources, will handle the next disaster in their individual state? That didn’t work before. It was why FEMA was established. Duh.
July 13, 2025 at 2:00 AM
FEMAs old advice was to prepare for aid to take 3 days to reach you after a disaster. But with its management constantly under attack and more disasters happening at once, 3 days is the minimum, not the maximum.

This would include all of FEMAs preparedness grants including those related to terrorism, cyber, natural hazards, climate, etc. The loss of these grants would hobble state and local EM agencies.

This would include most of FEMAs mitigation (or climate adaptation) efforts -- BRIC is the big one.

Trump actually DID take $271 million out of FEMAs disaster relief budget to detain and deport migrants.

DOGE cut 20% of the NWS work force on top of cutting 20% of FEMAs staff.
The GOP’s budget cuts to NOAA are set to take effect at the start of fiscal year 2026, which begins on October 1, 2025.

Anyone making the deaths of the children in Texas about partisan politics is morally bankrupt. Please reflect.

This secretary’s ridiculous need to micromanage is going to cost lives at some point. The continued insistence to interfere with FEMAs ability to carry out its mission is in direct opposition of the Post Katrina Emergency Reform act.

She is our biggest threat right now!

This administration continues to sabotage our ability to respond to disasters, from hurricanes to acts of terrorism.

We know disasters will happen. The question is, will we be prepared?

The American people deserve a FEMA that will quickly respond in their time of need.

It would be really great if we had a FOX News to relentlessly contrast Trump's $100 million military parade and his $600 million airplane with Trump refusing to help Arkansans hit by tornados and flooding.

FEMAs entire budget in 2024 was $300 million.

People are already dying and suffering from storms not even close to hurricanes without FEMAs assistance, this regime is fucking bullshit and needs to be stopped.
