In 2014 I wrote for StarDate magazine about a different kind of under-sea search for evidence of supernovae: indications from iron-60 found in the ferromanganese crust under the South Pacific, and in fossilized magnetitactic bacteria. Wouid be neat to have this other line of evidence.

Firing the natural colored clays to use for slips did almost as expected.

The gray glauconite wasn't neutral. It fired tan to pinkish tan. The ferromanganese (brown ochre) mixed with the glauconite fired brown. The red & the white are two I've used for slips many times. #ceramics #archaeology
