AO3 tags, including: - GhostSoap - Hurt Soap - Amnesia - Canon Divergence - Slow Burn have we met before? pap3rtigers Summary: "It's muscle memory, John," his therapist explained once, a few sessions back. "The body often remembers what the mind can't. Trust the impulses that make you feel safe. Let your body take you where it wants to go, you'll feel more at ease in places it recognizes, even if you don't remember them." 🧼💀 John can't stop coming back to the same cafe every Thursday. It feels right, even if he doesn't know why, and something in him won't let it go. Ghost keeps coming back, too. Except he knows exactly what's drawing him to this place, and it's killing him knowing that he's so close but so far away... 💀🧼 A post-Modern Warfare III fix-it AU, where John MacTavish survives the bullet, Simon Riley is too stubborn to walk away, and Johnny can't stop reaching for the things he can't remember losing. Cream text on a brown background that reads: John wrapped both hands around the mug anyway. Lifted it and held it there for a moment, pulling a slow drag of bergamot and vanilla before taking a sip and letting the warmth seep through him. For a moment, the noise quieted—not the cafe noise, that was fine, he liked hearing Maisie's laugh and the hiss of the espresso machine behind the counter—the low-grade static of something's wrong something's missing something's wrong something's missing that never fully stopped rattling around his skull. Here, though… it didn't completely stop, but for a little while he could pretend he was just John, just a regular bloke on a regular day with a regular life, enjoying his favourite coffee shop on his favourite day of the week— —Christ, how bloody sad that Thursday was the best bloody day of his week when the bar was 'sat in public and didn't have a PTSD episode.' Not that he wouldn't take the win. The rest of the week could fuck off for a few hours.

A while ago, we started a #FixItFriday tradition. We keep a running list - large & small, digital & analog, anything broken or annoying - and work on it together.

Today's 30-second fix: to remove AI "preview" from search results, here's the setting for Chrome users: www.reddit.com/r/techsuppor...
Screenshot from Reddit. User is zensnapple, posting 6 months ago. Thread says "How to turn off Google AI Overview in Chrome SOLVED Open Chrome and put chrome://settings/searchEngines in the search box. A tab will open which brings you to Search Engine > Manage Search Engines and Site Search. Click on the Add button by the Site Search update. A box will open. Fill in the form with the following: Name: AI Free Web Shortcut: @web URL: {google:baseURL}search?q=%s&udm=14 You’ll now see AI Free Web in the list of search engines. Click on the three stacked dots on the right side of AI Free Web on the list. Select Make Default. From now on, google functions pretty much like it did back when it was good. Good luck out there."
