Actually it’s like having lung cancer after having smoked a pack a day for fixity years and saying “I have no idea how this could’ve happened!”
It’s like looking at a malignant cancer and saying “This isn’t an aberration, it’s what your body was designed to produce” - what? No it’s not? It doesn’t diminish the danger to point out it’s an enormous and unlucky breakdown of the normal system

d.s. users are having a debate over cross-dressing vs trans tagging and multiple ppl pointed out that it is the exact same argument as the subtext vs yuri tag and sort of gets at how "fixity of default sex / heterosexuality" undermines how ambiguity allows substrate itself to be fluidly interpreted

this of course is unhelpful to understand mizuki's narrative as a trans girl's narrative, but beyond that in refusing to treat the "substrate" sex as itself a social relation it undermines the possibility of reading mizuki as a character who not just displaces gender norms but sex's fixity itself.

the thing is, if you do take "sex=/=gender" as self evident, then lead this into gender & sexuality are fake (yes, kinda) without extending this to sex, then all you are left with is the (assumed fixity of) sex, which is how transphobia activates. so sex=/=gender is not true, since sex is social.

In 21st century independent Ireland (26) we've decided that landlords were right and Parnell was wrong about fair rent and fixity of tenure.
On 28 December 1880, Charles Stewart Parnell and other Land League leaders were put on trial on charges of conspiracy to prevent the payment of rent to landlords as part of its campaign for the Three Fs (fair rent, fixity of tenure and free sale).
