While Angling and Gamekeeping are not my thing, I have something in common with Scottish Anglers and Gamekeepers - that’s a desire to save wild salmon from the salmon (factory) farming industry - which is doing such great harm.

Thanks for saying it how it is George. I feel that part of the problem is that DEFRA covers both the environment & farming. If there’s a “poacher” at the top of it, its “gamekeeping” role will always be trumped. Because of the nature, climate & food security crises, bring back Kerry McCarthy

Love Curlews - in severe decline as ground nesting birds desperately in need of protected habitat - but “legal predator control” always raises an eyebrow when it comes to gamekeeping… there’s a balance, but there’s always devil in that detail.
Curlew chicks reaching fledging age gives our hardworking gamekeepers great satisfaction.
Success requires several aspects: good habitat management, modern tech, and legal predator control.
