#hamstick
Ha, that's funny too, while I, personally love a simple end fed, we've been looking at different verticals lately. With hamfest season starting up, it's a great time to explore. I have a friend who swears by a hamstick dipole.

I usually have great luck with a hamstick!

Waiting in truck for wife’s hair appt, knocked out several #cqww #HamRadio #contest QSOs. 10m is pretty hot today! #hamstick doing a respectable job from this #ft991a

Well, THAT’s not gonna work.

Had to try my #pota gear in the wild. I’ve never been an activator. Wrongest time of day for 40m but got a Canadian POTA. My hamstick wouldn’t tune 20m so try again in the evening. #hamradio

another day, another #hamradio antenna (can you tell i'm on a kick?)

Built a J pole for 2m/70cm for camping next weekend; didnt have a good antenna and not gonna pay $100.

Old chopped up hamstick, piece of brass rod, piece of all thread. SWR is 1.2 at 146 and 445 MHz, and below 1.5 at band edges.

i think my current best performer has been a two-hamstick horizontal dipole about 18 feet off the ground

I’ve always been intrigued by the buddypoles. I have a 40m hamstick but it was (by antenna analyzer) designed for the voice end of the band. The buddy system seems like wile a compromise it would be a good QRP CW system though. I always did well with wire dipoles.

it sucks that MFJ shut down, because one could buy THE OCTOPUS. 4 bands!

i ran a combo hamstick dipole setup for 12+17m for a bit and it worked great. reasoning was that since theyre so narrow, hamsticks would be fine.

just two of the dipole mounts, mounted 90 deg rotated apart, used short wires to connect the hot + ground sides of each. surprisingly little interaction

yeah ive got a two hamstick dipole 18ft off the ground coming out of my flagpole mount in my trailer hitch. pretty humble

I have an antenna that I think is a HamStick. I need to put the NanoVNA to work and see what frequencies it will work on.
