While that may be true, when we talk about 'bikes' it's easy for many people to forget about those who need to use non-standard cycles such as trikes, recumbents and tandems.

Have you seen these? Common in NL for disabled folks to go to the shops. I don't think I ever saw it on a folding wheel chair like this though. Usually much nicer ones.

When I see wheelchair and mobility scooter users (except sports wheelchair, add-on handcycle users, etc.) using bike lanes, my first thought isn't "see, bike lanes are mobility lanes!", it's "are the sidewalks accessible enough?"
