For #wildflowerhour it’s Fox-and-cubs in a local churchyard from me. Also known as devil’s paint brush, grim-the-collier and orange hawkweed.

And a few more from Worcestershire's lanesides: yellow Groundsel and Red Deadnettle, then Bittercress (tiny white flowers, in our garden I'm sure it goes to seed *before* flowering 😉 ) and bright yellow-green Spurge. Finally, a tall Hawkweed (I think.) #wildflowerhour

Lots of wildflowers still in bloom around Cambridge this week. It feels like #TheWinter10 is very close!
Great to see the Lesser Calamint has had a November revival, and also nice to find some Henbit Dead-nettle.

#WildflowerHour This beautiful bouquet caught my eye under a hedge behind some park railings. Apparenlty a form of Hawkweed, though not sure which.

And again.
This time it would be a different conifer association, and the caps are closer to as described. Last time they were more "usually" depressed than "occasionally" but this time is less than half. They seem to like the same spots that hawkweeds like on lawns.

When my wife drove from near Brechin to Aberdeen, I took a grid ref at roughly 1 minute intervals as we drove past Danish scurvygrass. The result is a sequence of tetrads on the BSBI map. Main roads elsewhere are highlighted too. The same could be done for autumn hawkweed amongst other species.

Sometimes I have a little baggie of seeds in my pocket, e.g. White Woodland Aster and Canada Hawkweed. Sometimes I use what is nearby. I always try to use local ecotype seeds. Maple leaf Viburnum seeds shouldn't be allowed to dry out too much btw.

Species seen on the east coast this week, in the vicinity of Great Yarmouth. Great to see so much Sheep's-bit, Umbellate Hawkweed and Grey Hair-grass, with Mossy Stonectop enjoying trampled dune paths and Sea-rocket still flowering on the foreshore

It was glorious weather to enjoy a breathtaking walk along the cliff tops to Old Harry Rocks, Purbeck today.

This Hawkweed was perched right on the cliff edge peeping over at the sparkling blue sea below.
