If they don't understand what DEI is, they won't be able to understand how the two-pilot crew operates. Also, DEI hires are all qualified hires. DEI is giving preference to minorities with equal qualifications, not hiring less qualified people because they are a minority.

The hires rate also improved slightly in September, rising to 3.4% from 3.3% in August. Improvement is welcome though hires are still on the softer side, just barely above the average for much of the last 2 years, and comparable to hires rates from 2013.

The hires rate resembles that of 2013 when the economy was still clawing its way out of the Great Recession and the unemployment rate was over 7%. Low hires make it difficult for (re)entrants to find a job.
