I just want Livy-loving Roman historians who don’t play video games to know that a video game, Imperator: Rome, actually has a devotio mechanic where the player can sacrifice their faction leader for boons.

Amusing to think how much forum whining you'd have gotten if Imperator modeled the mobilization difference: Rome with, say, 1,000 pops fields 100-180k troops with a 700k manpower pool.

Meanwhile, Ptolemies have 1,200 pops, but field 75,000 troops and a manpower pool of maybe 100k.
