Vivian did not disclose she was an AI agent. Called me and said “we have your insurance as Blue Cross?” I said that’s wrong. She then asked for my insurance info. I said it’s already in your system, I was just at your facility. She said “oh I can’t access that, let me transfer you to the front desk”
Called place where I’m getting ultrasound today:
“Uh..I just got a call from one of your employees saying I need a different test and she had my address and insurance provider wrong and didn’t know if any of this is covered?”
Receptionist: “oh yeah that’s our AI agent Vivian. She gets confused!”

I’ve now experienced AI fucking up TWO medical things for me in the past month.
1. Sent me the wrong summary of a bad blood test result via patient portal that scared the shit out of me
2. An AI agent (who I did not know was an AI agent) called me today to schedule a test my doctor did not order

Linking medical care to employment is very stupid. There was a kerfuffle with my paycheck this summer, and for one pay period, my insurance premium was not deducted. As a result, they canceled my insurance without telling me, but kept deducting the premium. I just found out I’m not insured. 🤬

Long story short: my wife quit her fancy corporate job & we've been buying our health insurance on the marketplace for the last year. Recently she got a job at Trader Joe's, which provides insurance.
Our insurance payments are gonna go from ~$4200/month to around $400/month. No lie. Pure insanity.

We are in a death spiral in healthcare. As people & employers drop health insurance because of the cost, people end up in ER's, with bills they can't pay, which runs up the cost on people that still have insurance, driving up their rates, and then they drop their insurance, and the cycle goes on
