I want this book to be the most me type of thing I've written... queerplatonic, interspiritual, folkloric. Yes.

Oh there’s 11 001 of you! Amazing. I hope you enjoy your stay.

A little about me:

I write stories inspired by Palestinian folklore. I’m interspiritual, I am disabled. I’m also asexual and quoiromantic.

I’m currently working on my debut solarpunk novella project imagining a liberated world.

“While the unity of the human race must be championed tirelessly by Interspirituality, we must also leave ample room for the messy complexity, the blood and marrow, that diversity demands.”

~ Rory McEntee & Adam Bucko discussing an ‘Interspiritual Revolution.’

“If you left Christianity, how can you still be a Reverend?”
It’s a fair question. One I get asked often.
I’m not here to defend a title. I’m here to honor a truth.
My ordination didn’t come from Christian approval. It came from years of study, reflection, and choosing a path rooted in compassion.

I went to a vegan interspiritual church today and had a completely vegan meal.

At least one reader assumed I was Muslim and anti-Christian reading this story. Like, do they dig the original where being born biracial and interspiritual makes you lifeless and inhuman? Only baptism can give you a soul, breath (and white skin)? o_O

The cover piece for my new comic, my first creative non fiction piece about my interspiritual journey, inspired by 'testimonial' stories, but about spooky business. :D

Went to an "interspiritual meditation" session where a group of Christians did zikr and meditated on the meaning of an Islamic name of God and a verse of Rumi chosen from decks of cards

Interspiritual: my orientation falls outside of the bounds of orthodoxy. You could easily just say I’m a heretic, which is fine.

My family is a blend of Muslim and Christian. Culturally, I am a mixture of both and neither. I’ve been called a “kitchen witch” too. I like learning about esoterica.

And I have an interspiritual orientation personally. I don’t make such a strong division in my practice between Christian and Muslim. The overlap is very broad in my mind.

I keep thinking about that upper room—and the dust on their feet, the fear in their voices, the bread in his hands.

Jesus didn’t host a ceremony. He hosted a meal.

Oh! That's such a good way of putting it. I didn't realize that one *could* be interspiritual until I read up on Palestinian folk religion where, quite prominently, there's a lot of practices surviving from many different canons and traditions. I had been all my life, but didn't realize it.

Been saying this a long time. No one cared.

This isn’t just about me. It’s about what happens when you free yourself from dogma and still refuse to make yourself small. I didn’t leave the church to disappear. I left to live more honestly. And I’m not going back.

If you’re deconstructing and wondering what comes after, I hope this helps.
