Our 2024 OCD Walk was amazing! Over 150 people, 10 sponsors, and the entire board of the local IOCDF affiliate (OCDCSFL) joined in community to support those impacted by OCD. We raised over $10,000 and made so many new friends!

There was sometimes banter at the PPC presentations.

A candidate was being presented who listed his membership on the organizing committee for the First International Conference on OCD.

One of the directors said "I bet those were interesting organizing meetings."

Some personal news. While advocating for years about life with OCD in my own time, I will now be doing so officially with the IOCDF as a volunteer advocate!

OCD is an often misunderstood and trivialized affliction. Since going public with my diagnosis, it has been my goal to inform and educate.

But there are people out there who can help. OCD is well-researched and there are treatments that we know work for many of the people who engage in them. Look up the IOCDF and NOCD for clinicians who've been trained in understanding and treating OCD. Look into ERP, ACT, and I-CBT. 10/

Ouch. Sounds painful: "Wait, that was only 999,999 steps. I need to start over."
But seriously, the IOCDF is great. Support them! Remember, "every member counts." (that slogan is not original; it's from an IOCDF button I got years ago).

IOCDF, maybe? There really doesn't seem to be much anywhere about this specific problem. Still looking.

Did anyone go to the IOCDF conference over the weekend? It was in Chicago but I think all the talks were available online as well (don't know if these were free or not). Any particularly useful talks or things you want to share?

to this day he's still on the IOCDF board i think, need to double check that again (ok, the scientific and clinical advisory board)

he literally helps teach ppl how to treat OCD but he doesn't even know that his approach is documented as harmful

or if he does, he just dismissed it outright perhaps
