Great piece - Paddy Smyth in the @IrishTimes - Russia is blatantly interfering in European elections, mostly without much response, with many other forms of attack employed too.

Russia has been at war with the EU for a decade. It’s time to stop the denialism +confront the enemy.

Keep an eye out for my "Irish Diary" in the @irishtimes on St Stephen's Day. A festive piece that needs finishing tomorrow!

If there was ever any doubt remaining that this was 100% correct, you might think that - say - the actual President of the United States recruiting actual Tony Blair to help flog his big Disneyland Gaza selloff board would’ve banged a nail through those.

I used to read Róisín Ingle in the @IrishTimes and think “Wow, what a writer!” I read her extraordinarily calm, powerful article today and thought: Wow, what a woman. All good things to her and her family.

I am looking forward to being deeply comforted (Guardian) and beautifully heartbroken (IrishTimes). My signed copy of Tom Cox's "Everything Will Swallow You" has winged its way from Blackwell's to Minnesota! @dj-acid-reflux.bsky.social

“If there was a good case to be made in Denmark for scrapping its agriculture ministry, I believe the argument in favour of a similar step in Ireland is even more compelling & urgent”.

My op-ed in today’s @IrishTimes

John Gibbons: Ireland needs an agriculture policy. Instead it has an agri-food industry
Denmark no longer has an agriculture minister – Ireland should follow suit

Yes he is.

@irishtimes and the Guardian will give him huge coverage and little or none to the rest of the authors and judges.

Just off an editorial zoom meeting where meself, Fionnan and Pat have agreed that the supporters of militarism are to be referred to as the ‘brave and wise supporters-of-so-called-militarism’ and the opponents are to be called ‘freeloaders.’

So same as usual.
