This #irishTimes poll sets a record for the most blatantly partisan and mendacious framing I have ever seen in any #opinionpoll anywhere about anything. 😡

Despite the bias, 68 per cent favour the current model of neutrality over the loaded alternative option […]

Typically in a lose-lose situation you attempt a harm reduction strategy by choosing the lesser of two evils.
So in choosing to play Israel you’re saying that the potential harm to the FAI is the lesser evil than the very real and ongoing genocide in Gaza. #StopTheGame

The @IrishTimes poem of the week! Absolutely delighted. Give the full thing a read.

An Uncrowned King

"Painted women sang, and squalor
prove a harsh backdrop for sheriffs –
judges and barristers too – careening through..."

I saw the title on the home page of the #IrishTimes and didn't even have to zoom in on the byline to know whose take this would be.

Some favors come with too high a price.

If your village depends on a child raping monster and his friends to live, then you are all spineless cunts for staying there.

Fuck you and your bloodlines.

Interesting view on the value of archival records in today's @irishtimes www.irishtimes.com/opinion/2026...
The issue here is the DPC's requirement that records be destroyed if there is no further use for them. Part of that is determining the future use. And archival purposes may be a required use
Opinion: Patient records are a vital part of our history. Destroying them is wrong
DPC ordered the HSE to audit stored records and ‘safely destroy any containing personal data that are no longer needed’. But these records have immense value

Shredding sensitive historic patient records is wrong
This is not simply about preserving more records for privileged historians: it is about whose histories we value and whose stories matter.

#Seahawks' Lumen Field was just ranked #1 NFL stadium by #USAToday. 😤

Earlier this Summer, for the World Cup, it was rated the best stadium of the 2026 World Cup venues.

Also, according to #IrishTimes, it was named "THE natural home of soccer aka football".

The #Irishtimes not even pretending to be anything other than a right wing rag anymore.

This piece would have been shameful before Jason Ardays death but afterwards? It was NOT of his own making. Hugh Linehan is scum, plain and simple.
www.irishtimes.com/media/2026/0...
The Jason Arday media storm was partly of his own making. But he deserved better
Was the coverage excessive? Yes. Was it driven by racial animus? Undoubtedly, in some cases
