MTA TrainTime has the best integration between trip planning and mobile ticketing (the mobile ticketing integrations with Transit App for mid-sized agencies are a good second)
Denver RTD has the best all-around mobile ticketing system (uses same JustRide platform as MTA but way more features)

They could have easily kept JustRide mobile ticketing as a bolt-on until that integration was ready, and just operated it as a separate system like they have for the past decade. Their solution requires integrating multiple systems anyways...

If only we had a metropolitan transportation authority...wait, we do! And they figure it's easier to just outright eliminate the few existing joint ticket options instead of figuring out how to bring them to TrainTime/eTix (even though NICE, SCT, & FI Ferries use exact same JustRide platform as MTA)
