my favorite instrument is the kickdrum . I fucking love the kickdrum. whenever I record all I hear is "please less kickdrum." I am going to learn double pedal and play even more kickdrum. so when I'm told to tone down the kickdrum I even it out to where I truly want it to be. I love the kickdrum

909 kick. the bass is basically baked into the very beginning of the kickdrum. that's about as instantaneous of a bass hit you're possibly going to get, and that's why it works so well. always preserve that as much as possible

it's kind of funny how one of the best ways to detect whether music is AI or human is the degree of 'humanisation', lots of human producers chase some degree of it but a human producer copy pastes a kickdrum, an algorithm can only predict the next kickdrum-like sound
