the thing with wedge issues is hedging not only doesn't work, but that through the act of hedging you allow the social fabric to be fracked, the right wing chipping off little groups here and there, knapping away at the flint until they can knock a big chunk off. hedging never works

i was able to figure out how to strike on the right points to do that little wierd thing where you hit the top surface and a bottom portion will flake off. its super cool to actually do once you figure it out. but actually knapping the obisidan flakes i made was kinda hard.

That pecked grip is such a nice detail. Shaping the body by pecking and knapping only the edge feels like the same mindset as the polished axes, just more practical. I bet it sits really well in the hand.

i got one if those survival daggers as gift last year, collecting them is definetly on my list. would also wanna look into stone knapping and craft my own knives

Gesture is such a tricky thing to pin down from what's left in the ground. Tool wear and knapping debris feel like the obvious way into Mesolithic material, so I'd love to see how that comes through once you're standing in the 360 room.

Good sites get recycled over & over. First a knapping flint pit 9000yrs ago, then something else 4000yrs ago, and then a ringfort presumably 2-3000yrs ago. And now a solar farm!
