I have thoughts. I am also glad to finally have an appointment with my original oncologist, who is on the board that defines standards for multiple myeloma. During my treatment I concluded he was an asshole. He has also been the only knowledgeable doctor I have met with regarding this illness.

The way AI companies are structured and overseen makes them giant accountability sinks.
AI’s major purpose is to take away knowledgeable underlings who sometimes will disagree with the bosses, and replace they by something that will justify what the boss wants to do, and provide a rationale.

I actually had read that about older ppl looking back & so I took the attitude that I had never looked better than at that point in time. Confidence is really attractive. But now the music is played on a mellow fiddle & more knowledgeable 😉

Let's try a few further examples. I have a friend whose Kiwi grandfather was once made an honorary Maori. My friend is knowledgeable about the people and rightly proud of this family history but nobody suggests (outside of the odd joke) that he is in fact Maori. Prob because he's not a US academic.

Most of us aren't the annoying group we constantly get projected as. And far more knowledgeable about stuff you think we should know about.
