Finished these Kryomek weirdos. Painting old sculpts is always an interesting experience. Had to give them modern bases too, trying to balance the little metal ones is a nightmare.

The latest of my #ChaosSquats used to be a Paimon Miniatures fantasy chaos dwarf. Love the back mouth. As I’ve often done, an old #kryomek bit helps make it look more sci fi.

Friend has collection of Kryomek models, but never really got enough painted due to lack of time. Enter taskmaster James & new Kryomek collection, plus speed painting tips. Retouched, completed or completely painted 43 figures as a team last weekend. Not prize winners, but good enough for play.

Kryomas continues with this drone carrier, here seen disgorging a swarm of Alpha Helions. These aggressive Helions lack long-range firepower, so the protective exoskeleton of the drone carrier helps keep them safe as they close with the enemy.

For the Oldhammer event Bring Out Your Lead this summer I am adapting the wfb 2nd edition scenario Terror of the Lichemaster for 40k replacing villagers with ratlings and Undead with genestealers. Undersized kryomek scenery is perfect for futuristic hobbit holes.

Kryomas is truly underway -- I threw some quick speed paint colours on these classic Kryomek models; we're going to have my friend's collection in a playable state before year's end or I'll know the reason why.

There are so many knockoff Aliens APCs out there, especially going back a few years. I had the knockoff one from Kryomek, my dad probably still has it somewhere.

I did play that Aliens RPG a few times, we used Kryomek models instead of the official minis, since Kryomek was basically Aliens anyway. The Nexus Marines models were particularly shameless in their inspiration!
Just checked, looks like Kryomek models are still available from Scotia Grendel.

This month and next I am helping a friend paint Kryomek models, in hopes that he ends up with big, fully-painted Nexus and Kryomek forces. Yesterday we painted for about 3.5 hours and finished 17 models. The results aren't prize-winning, but they'll look fine in play.
