On a moor above the village of Langon in Brittany can be found 29 (mostly quartz) menhirs. Known as 'Les Demoiselles', they are said to be young women who were turned to stone for dancing rather than attending Sunday prayers. #StandingStoneSunday

This cute little chapel in Langon, Brittany is actually a repurposed Roman bathhouse thought to date to the 4th century. Inside it can be found an ancient fresco of Venus emerging from the waves (although I didn't get to see that as it was locked on the date I visited...). #RomanSiteSaturday.

Located near Langon in Ille-et-Vilaine, Brittany, this short stretch of paved way is thought to be part of a Roman road that once led from Corseul to Nantes. It was certainly used in medieval times and is sometimes referred to as 'the Path of Duchess Anne'. #RomanSiteSaturday
