Instead, I think it's cultural language. Learning how to dress well requires learning the cultural language and governing aesthetic principles for a group, and then learning how to express yourself within those parameters.

For those learning any language (not just Japanese), especially those who are using Duolingo, you should immediately ditch Duolingo for better alternatives.
The famous green owl app Duolingo is going even harder into AI made by stolen content. It's not curated by native speakers so you have no idea if what you're learning is correct. Their algorithm overall tries to hit the happy brain juices instead of helping you learn. So here are some alternatives!

Y'all need to stop using Duolingo. Your library probably gives you free access to Mango or other language learning programs which haven't been sloppified.

If you've got some free time on your hands one of the best things you can do is to learn a language. It doesn't matter which language it is, learning any language makes the world a smaller place and brings you closer together with people you wouldn't otherwise speak to.
